A Global Pickleball Tour is happening and it’s coming to europe

The United Pickelball association has announced it’s launching a global pickleball tour that kicks off in australia in 2025.

Pro pickleballers will have the chance to show off their skills worldwide as the UPA launches its first-ever series of events that will be known as the UPA international Championship series.

The Series will see over 150 of the best professional players compete in five different regions with the first of the opens to take place in early 2025. THE PPA (Professional Pickleball association) sanctioned events will have PPA Tour points up for grabs for participating players.

It all starts in melbourne, australia for the AUSTRALIA PICKLEBALL OPEN, WHICH TAKES PLACE BETWEEN JANUARY 29TH AND FEBRUARY 2ND. NEXT, IT’S ONTO MUMBAI, INDIA FOR THE INDIA PICKLEBALL OPEN FROM FEBRUARY 5TH-9TH, BEFORE the tour HEADs TO TORONTO, CANADA FOR THE CANADA PICKLEBALL OPEN IN SEPTEMBER.

FURTHER OPENS WILL also TAKE PLACE in ASIA (OCTOBER), EUROPE (ALSO OCTOBER) AND THEN FINISH UP IN DALLAS, USA FOR THE UPA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NOVEMBER. VENUES FOR THE ASIA AND EUROPE OPENS HAVE YET TO BE CONFIRMED.

As mentioned, the international PPA Series will commence in 2025 and should mark a pivotal moment taking pickleball global as it continues to compete for court time with padel around the world. It will be particularly interesting to discover the chosen venue for the european leg of the tour and whether the Uk will be in the running for being the venue of choice.
